XGate Feature: BigMail Filter Tool

Learn how to prevent large emails from consuming your satellite data by configuring and using the XGate filter feature, BigMail.

During an XGate data session, the program will search the server for incoming mail and automatically download it. Then outbound mail will be automatically sent from the outbox. Both of these processes consume satellite data.

BigMail is an XGate feature which filters out large incoming and outgoing emails during a data session over a satellite connection. These emails, once confined by the BigMail filter, can be downloaded or uploaded later over a standard network connection, saving satellite data.

Note: When ANY change is made to BigMail settings, you must start a new data session for the changes to save on the server. Otherwise these changes will not save!

    5. Start a manual session in the Xgate Client to save the changes. This sends the setting changes to the Xgate Server.

    6. Once BigMail size settings have been configured and saved, incoming and outgoing emails larger than the set cutoff size will be held on the mail server and an email notification will be sent to you.

Note: There is a maximum inbound email size of 12 MB set on the mail server. Any incoming mail equal or larger than 12 MB will be rejected and a notification will be sent to the sender of the large email. There is no outbound maximum size.
